Daniela Lima discusses polling data and TV Globo departure
Journalist Daniela Lima has addressed her departure from TV Globo and the use of polling data during her program “Pulso Político” on UOL. During the broadcast, Lima declined to comment on a Quaest survey commissioned by TV Globo, citing a lack of detailed methodology and data transparency. Instead, she presented findings from a BTG/Nexus poll.
The BTG/Nexus data indicated spontaneous voting intentions for a first-round presidential race where President Lula held 40% and Senator Flávio Bolsonaro held 34%. In a stimulated first-round scenario, Lula reached 42% and Flávio Bolsonaro 37%. In a second-round projection, the poll showed a close margin of 47% to 46%.
Separately, an opinion piece by Artur Figueiredo has suggested that Lima’s exit from GloboNews was influenced by political and economic agendas. The article claims the broadcaster has shifted its editorial stance following her departure, though the piece is an opinion column and does not represent the official position of TV Globo or Lima.
