Chihuahua PAN and PRI leaders discuss potential political alliance

Political leaders in Chihuahua are advancing discussions for a potential alliance between the PAN and PRI. PAN state president Daniela Álvarez and PRI state president Alejandro Domínguez are scheduled to meet to discuss building a broad opposition front ahead of the 2027 elections.

Alfredo Chávez, PAN coordinator in the State Congress, emphasized that the goal is not merely to distribute candidacies but to establish a common political agenda to serve as an alternative to Morena. He suggested the coalition could also include Movimiento Ciudadano to create a political shield for the state against organized crime.

In a separate development, PAN state leader Daniela Álvarez has launched a campaign using black t-shirts featuring a skull and the slogan “Morena y muerte es lo mismo” (Morena and death are the same). This move follows an order from the Chihuahua State Electoral Institute to remove billboards containing the same message. Álvarez stated the campaign aims to highlight alleged links between Morena and organized crime.
