Daniela Sabatino announces retirement from professional football

Italian footballer Daniela Sabatino has announced her retirement from professional football at the age of 41. The prolific striker shared her decision via social media, describing the sport as her life and expressing both gratitude and the difficulty of closing such a significant chapter.

Sabatino leaves behind a distinguished career spanning 26 years, during which she scored over 500 goals. Her achievements include being a two-time Serie A Femminile top scorer and reaching double-digit goal counts for 16 consecutive seasons.

Throughout her career, she played for several prominent clubs, including Brescia, where she won Scudetti, Coppa Italia, and Supercoppa Italiana titles, as well as Milan, Fiorentina, Sassuolo, and Reggiana. Her journey took her from her beginnings in Castelguidone to competing in the Women's World Cup.
