Mexico educational updates: Student relocations and bee attack
In Teteles de Ávila Castillo, Puebla, the Secretary of Public Education, Manuel Viveros Narciso, presented a diagnostic report for the Escuela Normal Rural ‘Carmen Serdán’. The institution currently serves 389 students. Following reports of inadequate treatment by other students, 25 new students were relocated to other normal schools or National Pedagogical University (UPN) units. The state government has also implemented several improvements, including the construction of an athletic track cover, the provision of school kits, uniforms, and a school bus.
In Mexico City, a bee attack at the Escuela Secundaria Técnica 17 ‘Artes Gráficas’ in the Coyoacán borough left at least 14 students with minor injuries. The incident occurred when bees from a hive in a palm tree in the main courtyard attacked students. Emergency services and firefighters responded to the scene, treating the students and safely removing the hive. School authorities decided not to evacuate the premises, allowing other students to continue their activities.
