Daniela Urrizola returns to Chile following death of grandmother

Chilean television presenter Daniela Urrizola is returning to Chile from Mexico following the death of her maternal grandmother at the age of 100. Urrizola, who hosts the travel program ‘Viajando Ando’ on Mega, received the news while filming in Cancun.

In a social media tribute titled ‘The Brave Woman’, Urrizola honored her grandmother, noting she was one of the country’s first female mayors and a survivor of the Chillán earthquake. Urrizola shared that her grandmother had been a significant influence on her career path, encouraging her to pursue journalism after she had initially studied psychology.

Due to the sudden loss, production teams modified travel plans to allow Urrizola to return to Chile for the funeral services in Concepción. The new season of ‘Viajando Ando’ is scheduled to air on October 3.
