Daniele Compatangelo: Funeral held in Rome for La7 journalist
Funeral services were held in Rome at the Chiesa degli Artisti for journalist Daniele Compatangelo. Compatangelo, a 50-year-old White House correspondent for the Italian network La7, was found dead in his home in Arlington, Washington, on July 20.
His body was recently returned to Italy via United Airlines following delays caused by United States bureaucracy and his dual status as a U.S. citizen. The burial is scheduled to take place on September 5 at the San Restituto cemetery in Sauze di Cesana.
Colleagues and media representatives attended the ceremony to honor the journalist, who was known for his coverage of the Trump-Meloni scoop. The Arlington County Police Department has indicated that a final autopsy report may take between eight and twelve weeks to complete.
