Daniele Pitteri resigns as superintendent of Fondazione INDA

Daniele Pitteri has resigned from his position as superintendent of the Fondazione INDA after serving for approximately one and a half years. His resignation, communicated via legal counsel, follows reported disagreements with the foundation's managing director, Marina Valensise, regarding artistic direction and organizational choices.

The departure marks the third significant leadership change at the institution in recent years, following the resignations of Antonio Calbi and Valeria Told. The Sinistra Italiana federation in Syracuse has called for immediate intervention from the foundation's president, Syracuse Mayor Francesco Italia, to restore stability and transparency.

Local groups have expressed concerns that the ongoing governance instability could impact the artistic seasons and the local tourism economy. There are growing calls for greater clarity regarding the management of the archaeological area and the criteria used for cultural strategies and staff assignments.
