Daniele Pitteri resigns as Superintendent of INDA
Daniele Pitteri has resigned from his position as Superintendent of the Istituto Nazionale del Dramma Antico (INDA), the organization responsible for classical performances in Syracuse. His departure follows approximately one year in the role and is reportedly due to irreconcilable differences with the foundation's governance.
This marks the third time a high-level professional has left the position under similar circumstances, following the departures of Valeria Told and Antonio Calbi. The instability has raised questions regarding the structural relationship between the Superintendent and the Board of Directors, specifically concerning the division of duties between the Superintendent, who manages artistic activities, and the Managing Director, who handles administrative tasks.
In response to the resignation, the Fratelli d'Italia party in Syracuse has called for transparency and institutional accountability to understand the underlying causes of this recurring leadership instability. Meanwhile, the Democratic Party has requested a city council session to allow the Mayor to report on the situation in his capacity as the president of INDA.
