Danielle, a former member of the K-pop group NewJeans, has released an original song titled ‘Stay’ on her YouTube channel. The release coincided with ‘Bunnies Day,’ the fourth anniversary of the group’s official fandom name.
‘Stay’ is described as a folk-pop track featuring acoustic guitar and English lyrics that touch upon themes of isolation, internal conflict, and the inability to return to the past. The song’s release has sparked speculation regarding her future solo activities.
This musical release occurs amidst an ongoing legal battle with ADOR. Following a court ruling that maintained the validity of her exclusive contract, ADOR notified Danielle of her contract termination in December. The agency has since filed a lawsuit seeking approximately 33 billion won in damages and penalties against Danielle and former ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin.
Recent legal proceedings have focused on the calculation of damages, with disputes arising over whether the claim covers only Danielle’s individual breach or includes losses from the suspension of all NewJeans members' activities. The next hearing is scheduled for November 12.
