Daniil Medvedev reaches Cincinnati third round and hits 100 hard-court Masters wins

Daniil Medvedev advanced to the third round of the Cincinnati Masters 1000 after defeating Argentina’s Marco Trungelliti with a score of 6-4, 7-5. The victory marks Medvedev’s 100th win in ATP Masters 1000 tournaments played on hard courts, making him only the sixth active player to reach this milestone.

During the match, the world number seven recorded 11 aces and won 89% of his first-serve points. Medvedev will next face the winner of the match between Brandon Nakashima and Aleksandar Kovacevic.

In other tournament news, Casper Ruud withdrew from his match against Christopher O’Connell, appearing to suffer a lower back injury while leading in the first set. Additionally, Michael Zheng secured a victory over Ugo Humbert with a 6-4, 6-3 scoreline.
