Danijel Kukoč elected as new head of Split SDP

Danijel Kukoč has been elected as the new president of the Split branch of the Social Democratic Party (SDP). His election occurred during a party convention where Joško Markić and Goran Šarotić were also unanimously chosen as vice presidents.

During his speech, Kukoč criticized the party's direction over the last decade, stating that the SDP has lost its integrity. He outlined two primary goals for his mandate: restoring the party's reputation and securing power in Split by 2029 through cooperation with existing coalition partners, including the Možemo and Direkt parties.

Kukoč expressed a desire to rebuild trust with voters by addressing urban problems with concrete solutions rather than populist measures. He emphasized an openness to collaboration with political parties, civic associations, and intellectuals from the center to the left who do not cooperate with the HDZ.
