Danika Mason announces departure from Nine’s Today show

Danika Mason Today show Nine Network maternity leave Australian television

Sports presenter Danika Mason has announced she will not be returning to the Today show following her upcoming maternity leave. Mason revealed the decision on Friday morning, citing the difficulty of balancing her NRL commitments, her role on the program, and her new baby.

Her exit follows a series of high-profile departures from the breakfast program this year. Previous exits include weather presenter Tim Davies in August and former host Sarah Abo, who stepped away in July due to health concerns. Mason joined the show in early 2025 and has been a prominent figure in the network’s sports coverage.
