Danilo Palalić Saves Girl from Drowning on Bosnia’s Sana River

Danilo Palalić, a basketball trainer for Mladost in Mrkonjić Grad, rescued a young girl who began to drown at a public beach on the Sana River. He noticed a boy acting unusually and a larger girl slipping under the water, then immediately jumped in and pulled her to safety. Palalić said the incident happened within seconds and could have ended tragically.

He warned parents and swimmers that drowning can occur silently and emphasized the need for constant vigilance, especially when people are distracted by phones or their own children. The rescue involved only two children in the water and serves as a stark reminder of beach safety.
