Danilo Petrucci departs BMW to join MotoAmerica

Italian rider Danilo Petrucci is concluding his tenure with the BMW factory team in the World Superbike Championship. Reflecting on a difficult season, Petrucci described his experience with the BMW M 1000 RR as a “perfect storm,” citing poor winter testing weather and a significant injury sustained at the Most round in the Czech Republic as major setbacks.

Following his departure from WorldSBK, Petrucci is reportedly set to return to the United States to compete in MotoAmerica. He is expected to join the Attack Performance Yamaha team, a move facilitated by Bobby Fong’s transition to BMW. This opportunity follows Petrucci’s successful 2022 campaign in the American championship.
