Danilo Petrucci faces BMW challenges and potential MotoAmerica return

Danilo Petrucci is facing technical challenges with the BMW M 1000 RR in the WorldSBK championship. Despite his desire to join the German manufacturer, the Italian rider has struggled with grip and traction issues, recently finishing 14th in Cremona. Petrucci noted that while he does not regret his decision to join BMW, the reality of the bike's performance has been difficult.

Following the announcement that Petrucci will not continue with the ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team after the 2026 season, BMW has offered him a new role. As Brad Binder prepares to join the team in 2027 after moving from MotoGP, Petrucci has been presented with an offer to return to the MotoAmerica championship in 2027 and serve as a test rider for BMW. Petrucci expressed interest in remaining involved with the manufacturer, stating the chance of returning to the United States is “fifty-fifty.”
