Danilovgrad rejects resource concessions without citizen consent
Aleksandar Grgurović, the President of Danilovgrad, has announced that the local government will not support any future resource concessions without the explicit consent of citizens and local communities. He emphasized that decisions regarding the municipality’s most important resources must involve those living in the area to ensure legitimacy.
Grgurović specifically rejected potential concessions at the Sađavac II and Suk sites, stating they are unacceptable to the municipality. He argued that development should not be measured solely by the amount of stone exploited, but should instead respect people, the environment, existing infrastructure, and the long-term interests of the community.
