Danish agriculture highlights modern production and technology
Agricultural operations in Denmark are highlighting modern production methods through community events and technological investments. On September 20, nine North Jutland farms will participate in ‘Åbent Landbrug’ (Open Farm Day), organized by Agillix and Landbrug & Fødevarer. One participating farm, Karlslyst ved Tjele, run by Heidi and Allan Wieck-Hansen, will offer visitors insight into modern poultry production, featuring activities such as meeting animals and exploring farm machinery.
In the swine sector, Toftegaard Agri near Haderup has implemented new climate-friendly stables. Managed by Morten and Klaus Noe, the facility utilizes advanced technology from Skiold, including a multi-phase feeding system. This system allows for precise, weight-based feed adjustments at the individual pig level, enabling smoother transitions between feed types and optimizing costs despite challenging market conditions and evolving political debates regarding animal welfare and production requirements.
