Danish Air Show expected to cause traffic delays in Aalborg

The Danish Air Show at Flyvestation Aalborg is expected to attract up to 125,000 visitors on Sunday, September 13. This large influx of people is anticipated to place significant pressure on the road networks surrounding Aalborg Airport and Vadum.

The Danish Road Directorate (Vejdirektoratet) has issued warnings regarding heavy traffic, detours, and extended travel times from Friday, September 11, through Sunday, September 13. The most severe congestion is expected on Sunday, particularly during the morning hours between 7:00 and 10:00 and in the afternoon between 15:00 and 17:00.

Authorities advise visitors to turn off GPS devices and instead follow yellow signs marked “Airshow.” Travelers are encouraged to allow extra time, consider cycling as a faster transport option, and check real-time traffic updates via Trafikinfo.dk or P4 Trafik.
