Danish authorities seize 10,070 illegal puffbars at border
Authorities in Denmark intercepted a Romanian van at the border containing two pallets of illegal puffbars. The shipment consisted of 10,070 units, significantly exceeding the legal limit of 10 units allowed for personal use.
Vice Police Inspector Karsten Høy of the South and South Jutland Police noted that the seized products are particularly concerning due to their extremely high nicotine content and flavors designed to appeal to young people, such as Cola and Fanta. The products are believed to be intended for the black market to generate high profit margins.
The Danish Customs Agency estimates the tax evasion related to the importation of these 10,070 puffbars to be approximately 3.4 million Danish kroner. A 48-year-old Romanian man driving the vehicle has been charged; he was released following interrogation while the investigation continues.
