Danish Beer Industry Faces License Revocation and Sponsorship Controversy

Wisconsin tax authorities have ordered the immediate revocation of the alcohol‑serving licence of a brewery owned by Kirk Bangstad. The decision follows the illegal import of canned beer without the required permits and the owner's extremist political statements, including offers of free beer on the day President Donald Trump dies. The owner faces legal costs exceeding 690,000 kroner and the possible closure of two locations.

Separately, Carlsberg, Denmark’s major brewer and UEFA sponsor, posted a humorous Instagram message directed at FIFA president Gianni Infantino: “Time for a hydration break, Gianni? Probably.” The comment references Infantino’s controversial water‑break rule introduced at the current World Cup and underscores UEFA’s opposition to proposals to sell parts of FIFA’s tournaments to external investors.
