Danish Emergency Management Agency issues mental wellbeing advice
The Danish Emergency Management Agency (Styrelsen for Samfundssikkerhed) has partnered with the Psychiatric Foundation (Psykiatrifonden) to release seven pieces of advice aimed at improving mental wellbeing during uncertain times.
The initiative responds to growing public anxiety caused by global conflicts, natural disasters, and accidents. The guidance is designed to serve as a ‘mental preparedness kit,’ providing citizens with tools to manage worries before they become overwhelming.
Laila Reenberg, Director of the Danish Emergency Management Agency, emphasized the importance of maintaining mental health to ensure citizens have the capacity to support children, the elderly, and one another. Marianne Skjold, Director of the Psychiatric Foundation, noted that mental preparedness should be as accessible and prioritized as physical preparedness, such as stockpiling food and water.
