Danish Film Institute selects three Oscar candidates

Oscar bid Danish Film Institute Best International Film Danish cinema Academy Awards

The Danish Film Institute has announced three films selected as candidates to represent Denmark in the Best International Film category at the 2027 Oscars.

The three contenders are ‘Hjem’, directed by Marijana Jankovic; ‘Dobbeltfejl’, directed by Amalie Næsby Fick; and ‘Kvinde ukendt’, directed by May el-Toukhy. The film ‘Dobbeltfejl’ features lead roles played by Sofie Gråbøl and Sidse Babett Knudsen and focuses on an alleged sexual assault involving a teenage boy.

The Danish Oscar committee is scheduled to select the final official submission from these three candidates on September 25.
