Danish Lotto winner's bank card blocked after million-kroner win

A man from Frederikssund Municipality had his bank card blocked immediately after winning one million kroner in the Lotto.

After discovering the windfall, the winner and his wife began making significant purchases, including high-end eyewear and expensive top-model smartphones totaling 38,000 DKK. The bank responded by closing the card, citing an ‘unusual spending pattern’. The card was subsequently reopened for the couple.
