Danish MP Søren Olesen Takes Stress Leave

Søren Olesen, a 42‑year‑old member of the Danish Parliament for the Danish People's Party (DF), announced he is on sick leave due to stress. Elected for the first time in the March election, Olesen serves as the party’s spokesperson on industry and interior affairs. He said the leave, recommended by psychologists, will last until 28 September while he focuses on recovery. The decision was reported by local media and confirmed in an interview with TV MIDTVEST.

Olesen’s temporary absence comes as the DF navigates its role in the new parliamentary term, with the MP hoping to return before the parliamentary year begins.
