Danish music scene prepares for Grand Prix and P3 Guld awards

The Danish music and entertainment scene is preparing for several major events in late 2026. Søren Torpegaard Lund, a Danish Grand Prix winner, is managing a busy schedule that includes performing in the Gnags theater concert ‘De vilde kaniner’ at Musikhuset Aarhus and appearing in the satirical play ‘Skolekomedien’ at Aarhus Teater.

Lund is also set to participate in the Dansk Melodi Grand Prix in Frederikshavn with the song ‘Før vi går hjem’.

Separately, DR has announced the nominees for the P3 Guld awards, scheduled for October 16. This year introduces two new categories: ‘P3’s Næste’, replacing the talent prize, and ‘P3 Live’, which celebrates live music. The announcement comes amid criticism from artists regarding gender balance and diversity within the P3 lineup. Isabella Hindkjær, head of P3, has defended the station, stating that representation is addressed through their broader musical efforts rather than a single lineup.
