Danish performing arts feature new musical and opera productions

The Fredericia Musicalteater has premiered a new pirate-themed musical titled ‘Fang Vinden’. Set in 1720, the production follows the stories of historical pirates Anne Bonny and Mary Reed as they navigate the high seas and search for treasure in Denmark.

In addition to the musical premiere, Den Jyske Opera is presenting a new production of Bizet’s ‘Carmen’ at the Royal Theatre’s Old Stage. Directed by Johanne Holten, this staging features a Danish translation and explores themes of freedom, jealousy, and domestic violence. The production features the Odense Symphony Orchestra and is led by conductor Maria Itkonen.
