Danish riders succeed in Vojens speedway despite weather cancellations

Danish riders achieved significant success in speedway competitions held in Vojens, though weather conditions impacted the events.

In the SGP2 series, 18-year-old Mikkel Andersen secured the U21 World Championship title, finishing the series with 46 points. This marks the first time a Dane has won the U21 World Championship since 2012. Nicolai Heiselberg also performed strongly, winning the Vojens round and earning the World Championship silver medal with 42 points. Other notable Danish performances included William Drejer, who finished fourth overall in the series.

In a separate Speedway Grand Prix event in Vojens, heavy rain forced the cancellation of the competition before the final could be held. After 20 heats, the event was called off at 21:30 due to persistent rainfall. Leon Madsen, who had been performing well and was qualified for the final, finished second in the standings after the initial heats, trailing Robert Lambert. The cancellation prevented Madsen and other Danish riders, including Michael Jepsen Jensen and wildcard Frederik Jakobsen, from competing in the final heats.
