Danish Royal House criticizes media over privacy of young royals
The Danish Royal House has issued a strong criticism of the media regarding the privacy of its younger members. Communication Manager Nina Munch-Perrin called for greater caution concerning the quantity, length, and intrusiveness of videos and images featuring young royals.
Following the publication of various private photos and videos of Crown Prince Christian (20) and Princess Isabella (19) at music festivals and other social settings, the royal family expressed a need for the press to respect their personal lives. It was reported that some journalists were so intrusive that the Crown Prince had to personally ask them to step back.
The royal house emphasized that there must be space for a normal youth life, noting that while an unwritten rule previously protected the children of the royals, the transition to adulthood for some members has seen an increase in media scrutiny of their private activities.
