Danko Flores Cid detained in Tarapacá with 18 kilograms of drugs

Danko Flores Cid, son of Chilean comedian Mauricio Flores, has been placed in preventive detention after being caught with 18 kilograms of drugs in the Tarapacá Region. The arrest occurred on October 27 at the Quillagua customs control point while the suspect was traveling in a private pickup truck toward Santiago.

Customs officials used non-invasive scanner technology to detect structural anomalies in the vehicle's dashboard. Upon closer inspection, authorities discovered the narcotics strategically hidden within the panel. Following the seizure, the Tamarugal Local Prosecutor's Office formalized charges for illicit drug trafficking.

A judge in Pozo Almonte granted the request for preventive detention, citing the risk of flight and the danger the suspect poses to society. The court has established a 120-day period for the ongoing investigation.
