Danny Boyle and Jack O'Connell reunite for film Ink

Director Danny Boyle and actor Jack O'Connell are reuniting for the upcoming film ‘Ink’, a cinematic depiction of the rise of the British tabloid press. Set on Fleet Street in 1969, the story follows the acquisition of The Sun newspaper by Rupert Murdoch, played by Guy Pearce, and the efforts of editor Larry Lamb, played by O'Connell, to transform it into a major publication.

Based on James Graham’s West End play, the film explores the era of sensationalism and the visionaries behind a new kind of news. Boyle has compared O'Connell’s performance to Al Pacino, noting the actor's ability to navigate dark, complex characters. The production is scheduled to screen at the Venice Film Festival and the London Film Festival, with a UK cinema release set for January 8, 2027.
