Danny Boyle’s ‘Ink’ sets theatrical and Netflix release dates

Director Danny Boyle’s new biographical drama, ‘Ink’, has received its release schedule. The film, which explores the rise of Rupert Murdoch’s tabloid empire and the transformation of The Sun newspaper, is set to have its world premiere as the opening night selection at the 83rd Venice Film Festival in September 2026.

In the United States and Latin America, the film will receive a limited theatrical release on December 11, 2026, before arriving on Netflix on January 8, 2027. International theatrical rollouts managed by Studiocanal include releases in France and Belgium on January 6, 2027, followed by the Netherlands, Australia, and New Zealand on January 7, and the United Kingdom and Poland on January 8.

Based on the Tony-winning play by James Graham, the film stars Guy Pearce as Rupert Murdoch, Jack O’Connell as editor Larry Lamb, and Claire Foy as Jules Davies. The production is a collaboration between Studiocanal, Media Res, and House Productions.
