Danny K. sentenced to five years for fraud and forgery

A Vienna court has sentenced 53-year-old investor Danny K. to five years in prison for professional fraud and forgery. The defendant, who presented himself as a wealthy ‘business angel,’ was found to have caused damages totaling 1.86 million euros.

Prosecutors described the defendant’s actions as a massive, intentional scheme where he promised unrealistic returns to attract victims. He allegedly used a luxury lifestyle, including driving a Bentley, to project an image of immense wealth while soliciting advance payments for fake due diligence and banking consultations.

Among those involved was former Vice Chancellor and FPÖ leader Heinz-Christian Strache, who testified as a witness. Strache claimed to be a victim himself, stating that the defendant owes him 2.1 million euros in unpaid commissions related to potential business introductions. The sentence is not yet legally binding.
