Going to Sky wins Kikuka Sho, ending Lovcen's Triple Crown bid

Going to Sky, ridden by jockey Yutaka Take, won the Group 1 Kikuka Sho at Kyoto Racecourse on October 25, 2026. The victory secured Take’s sixth Kikuka Sho title and his 87th Group 1 win in Japan.

Going to Sky, the third favorite, finished the 3,000-meter turf race in 3:04.5, narrowly defeating Basse Terre by a nose. Danon History secured third place. The win effectively ended the Triple Crown ambitions of the heavy favorite, Lovcen, who finished 14th in the 18-horse field.

In a separate race at Kyoto, the highly anticipated newcomer Danon Cantabile, a son of Contrail, won its debut race with a time of 1:52.0, finishing ahead of Neuerung.
