Danon Dax prepares for Tokyo Racecourse maiden race

Danon Dax, the half-brother of the 2023 Triple Crown filly Liberty Island, is preparing for a critical two-year-old maiden race at Tokyo Racecourse on October 4. The colt, trained by Hiroyasu Tanaka, was sold for 310 million yen at the 2025 Select Sale.

After finishing second in his debut at Niigata behind Toshin Magic, trainer Hiroyasu Tanaka remains highly optimistic about the horse's talent. For the upcoming race, which extends the distance to 1,800 meters on turf, jockey Christophe Lemaire will take the reins. Tanaka noted that the horse is progressing well and is being prepared with an eye toward next spring's Classic races.
