Danry Vásquez suspended indefinitely by Mexican Baseball League

The Liga Mexicana de Béisbol (LMB) announced an immediate, indefinite suspension of Venezuelan outfielder Danry Vásquez of the Toros de Tijuana after a violent incident on 2 August 2026. During the third game of the series against the Acereros de Monclova, Vásquez was tagged out and responded by punching opponent Rodolfo Amador in the face and then kicking him while he was on the ground. The altercation caused both benches to empty and led to a broader brawl in which Monclova first‑base player Ryan Hernández suffered a fractured arm and required ambulance evacuation.

The league’s statement condemned the conduct, saying it “is incompatible with the values of fair play and respect” and “endangers the physical integrity and career of a fellow professional.” In addition to the indefinite suspension, the LMB indicated it is reviewing the actions of other participants for possible further sanctions and fines. The Toros confirmed Vásquez’s removal from the roster and noted the possibility of a lifetime ban, though no official decision has been released. Other players disciplined include Toros pitcher Adonis Medina and Monclova infielder Jecksson Flores, among others.
