Danté Pride releases debut EP ‘Come As You Are’

Gospel rap artist Danté Pride appeared on Jekalyn Carr’s Family Affair program on Praise 102.5 to discuss his debut EP Come As You Are. The project blends testimony, theology and trap‑style beats and centers on the message that God does not aim to change a person’s style, slang or personality, but to redeem them. Pride explained, “He don’t want to change your style, your fashion, even the way that you talk, your slang. But what he’ll do is he’ll redeem it.”

The EP reflects Pride’s own journey—from being expelled from church for wearing a hat to embracing his identity as a “Bama Baptist Boy” and preacher’s kid—illustrating how personal challenges can become a calling. The release highlights the growing presence of gospel rap in contemporary Christian music.
