Dante Delgado accuses Morena of political persecution in Mexico

Dante Delgado Rannauro, founder of the Movimiento Ciudadano (MC) party, has accused the Morena party of conducting a campaign of political persecution against MC leaders, mayors, and deputies across several Mexican states, including Veracruz, Puebla, Nayarit, Tabasco, and Campeche.

In Veracruz, Delgado specifically targeted Governor Rocío Nahle García, alleging she is using judicial institutions to intimidate and pressure political opponents. He cited instances such as the removal of legal immunity for mayors in Ixhuatlán del Sureste and Úrsulo Galván, as well as threats against candidates during the 2025 municipal elections. Delgado argued that Morena’s concentration of power across the executive, legislative, and judicial branches allows for the weaponization of justice to suppress opposition movements.
