Dante Gebel explores presidential candidacy in Argentina

Argentine evangelical pastor and influencer Dante Gebel is reportedly evaluating a run for the presidency. His team is currently working to build a national political structure, aiming to unite leaders from diverse backgrounds, including sectors of Peronism, Mileism, and Radicalism. Key figures involved in the organizational efforts include Eugenio Caselles and Lucas Aparicio.

Gebel has postponed a formal decision regarding his candidacy until after the World Cup. As part of his current activities, he is planning a massive event for November featuring international artists such as Ricardo Montaner and José Luis ‘El Puma’ Rodríguez.

Efforts to host this event at the River Plate stadium have faced obstacles due to club statutes prohibiting political or minority religious activities. Additionally, the venue is already scheduled to host the historic visit of Pope Leo XIV, marking the first papal visit to Argentina in nearly four decades. This scheduling overlap has drawn criticism from those who view the event as a media counter-programming attempt against the Catholic milestone.
