Danton Mello celebrates 100 days without smoking

Brazilian actor Danton Mello has reached a milestone of 100 days without smoking. Using a monitoring application, Mello shared that he has avoided approximately 4,000 cigarettes, saved R$ 2,300, and gained an estimated 16 days of life.

The decision to quit was prompted by the health struggles and subsequent death of his father, Dalton Natal de Mello, who passed away at age 84 in July following decades of smoking. Mello noted that the experience led him to reflect on the example he sets for his daughters.

Mello’s brother, actor Selton Mello, is also an ex-smoker, having quit approximately four years ago to improve his energy and respiratory health.
