Danu Robotics unveils H. E. R. O. recycling robot

Danu Robotics has unveiled H. E. R. O., an intelligent robot designed to transform the recycling industry by automating the sorting of recyclable materials. Developed over six years, the system aims to increase efficiency and reduce costs in waste management facilities, where material separation is often performed manually.

Unlike many existing systems that rely on suction, H. E. R. O. utilizes a mechanical gripper to capture objects. The robot is powered by advanced software that allows it to continuously learn and improve its ability to distinguish between various types of materials.

Founder Amy Ma was inspired to develop the technology after observing inefficiencies in waste separation processes. The company has already secured letters of interest from two large corporations, with signed contracts currently valued at approximately $500,000.
