The Danube’s water level at the Serbian entry fell to minus 136 centimetres, setting a new negative record. Pump station Bezdan, which supplies the northern Bačka region, stopped operating when the level reached about minus 131 centimetres, while the Bogojevo station continues to draw water with a reserve of roughly 20 centimetres.

The Vojvodina provincial government has earmarked 270 million dinars for urgent works, including deepening the Barac canal and preparing documentation for a higher‑capacity pump station at Bezdan. Hungarian hydrological experts forecast an additional drop of 20‑30 centimetres in the next six days, raising concerns of further strain.

Although navigation on the Danube–Tisa–Danube channel is operating at its limit and faces the risk of drying out, no official navigation bans have been imposed. The low water threatens river transport, irrigation, and hydro‑electric production at the Đerdap plant, which is already near historic low flow. Similar low‑water conditions have been reported on the Bulgarian stretch of the Danube and across other Central‑European basins, prompting regional alerts and emergency declarations in several Vojvodina municipalities.
