Daouda Weidmann secures breakthrough at FC Twente

Daouda Weidmann is experiencing a significant breakthrough at FC Twente this season. The 23-year-old French midfielder has recorded two goals and two assists in limited minutes, securing a starting position under coach John van den Brom.

Weidmann's move to FC Twente was facilitated by a preseason friendly between Twente and his former club, RKC Waalwijk. RKC technical director Bernard Schuiteman noted that Weidmann had previously shown talent that seemed above the level of the Eredivisie, but injuries during the previous season hindered his progress.

Before his time in the Netherlands, Weidmann developed in the youth academy of Paris Saint-Germain. He recalled training with world-class players such as Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappé, and Neymar, noting that observing their movement and composure provided invaluable lessons for his professional development.
