DAP urges Prime Minister to institutionalize equal funding for all MPs

The Democratic Action Party (DAP) is calling on Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim to fulfill a Pakatan Harapan election manifesto pledge by providing equal Constituency Development Funds (CDF) to all Members of Parliament.

DAP national chairman Gobind Singh Deo stated that while the Prime Minister recently announced an additional RM1 million for all 222 parliamentary constituencies, this does not address the core issue of non-discriminatory, equal allocations. The party argues that withholding equal funding undermines the democratic mandate and disadvantages voters based on their political affiliations.

To ensure long-term fairness and transparency, the DAP is urging the government to enact formal legislation to institutionalize equal CDF allocations. This would remove political discretion from the distribution process and permanently protect the rights of voters nationwide.
