Dar al-Ifta rules on charity distribution at graveyards

Dar al-Ifta al-Missriyyah has ruled that distributing charity on behalf of the deceased is permissible and recommended in Islam. The religious authority stated that the reward for such charity reaches the deceased and that there is no religious restriction on where or when these donations are distributed, including at graveyards.

The ruling emphasizes that charity can be given at the grave or any location where the needy and poor gather. However, the authority noted that individuals must adhere to the etiquette of visiting graves, such as not raising one's voice, and must follow health and medical standards when distributing food or drink.
