Daraa hosts SharafAI 2026 conference on artificial intelligence

The SharafAI 2026 conference launched in the Daraa Governorate building to discuss artificial intelligence and digital transformation. Attended by Governor Anwar al-Zoubi, the event brings together technical experts, academics, and government officials to explore how technology can improve institutional performance and public services.

Originally a local community initiative, the conference aims to bridge the gap between theoretical technical ideas and practical, scalable solutions. Key discussion areas include the impact of digital transformation on health, education, the economy, reconstruction, and public services. The agenda features panel discussions, workshops, and technical demonstrations focused on developing a digital strategy for Syria.

Participants, including digital transformation director Moammar Sweidan and conference executive director Mohammad Sharaf, emphasized the goal of transitioning from strategic planning to effective practical applications that benefit citizens. The event also seeks to connect technical talent with institutions and address the challenges of integrating modern technologies into the local workforce and infrastructure.
