Daren Sammy Foundation awards scholarships to 30 Saint Lucian students
The Daren Sammy Foundation has awarded scholarships to 30 Saint Lucian students for the 2026/2027 academic year. The initiative, supported by Republic Bank’s Power to Make a Difference program, involves an investment of approximately EC$68,000 to EC$70,000.
Recipients include students from primary, secondary, and tertiary levels, with funds designated for tuition, textbooks, uniforms, and school supplies. The scholarship program targets hardworking students from low-income families based on academic performance, financial need, and involvement in sports or extracurricular activities. To maintain eligibility, students must achieve a minimum passing grade of 75 percent per term.
Since its inception in 2016 by West Indies cricket head coach Daren Sammy, the foundation has provided more than EC$370,000 in educational support to 240 students.
