Darian Mensah ranked No. 1 quarterback in ESPN Power 4 rankings

ESPN’s Bill Connelly has released updated quarterback rankings for Power 4 college football teams, placing Miami’s Darian Mensah at the number one spot. Mensah has recorded 14 touchdown passes against only 12 incompletions, leading the FBS in completion percentage, yards per attempt, touchdown passes, and passer efficiency rating.

The SEC features several high-ranking passers in the top 12, including Trinidad Chambliss of Ole Miss (No. 4), Kamario Taylor of Mississippi State (No. 5), Keelon Russell of Alabama (No. 7), Gunner Stockton of Georgia (No. 8), and Aaron Philo of Florida (No. 12). Taylor has seen a significant rise in rankings, moving from No. 48 preseason to No. 5 following a 4-0 start for the Bulldogs.

As Mensah prepares for upcoming competition, Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney noted the quarterback's accuracy and ability to exploit defensive mistakes, recalling a previous matchup where Mensah threw for 361 yards and four touchdowns.
