Dario Zurovec founds new political party Hrvatski put

Dario Zurovec, an independent Member of Parliament and Mayor of Sveta Nedelja, has founded a new political party named ‘Hrvatski put - platforma nezavisnih’ (Croatian Way - Independent Platform). The party aims to serve as a platform for independent lists and individuals, drawing structural inspiration from the early stages of the Most party.

The movement currently focuses on the ‘Zagreb ring,’ gathering independent mayors and local officials from the Zagreb County area. Key founding members include Nenad Panian, the Mayor of Dugo Selo, and Marko Magdić, the head of the Križ municipality. Additionally, entrepreneur and chef Mario Mandarić has joined the project to support the initiative.

Zurovec, who previously co-founded the centrist party Fokus before leaving it in August 2024, intends for the party to participate in future parliamentary elections. While currently concentrated on local leaders in Zagreb County, the party plans to expand its reach to other regions, including Primorsko-goranska, Zagorje, and Splitsko-dalmatinska counties.
