Darja Viďmanová debuts at Wimbledon after breaking into top 100

Twenty‑three‑year‑old Darja Viďmanová, born in Moscow and now holding Czech citizenship, entered the WTA top 100 after winning the WTA 125 tournament in Figueira da Foz, Portugal. She made her Grand Slam main‑draw debut at Wimbledon, where she was drawn against world No. 4 Jessica Pegula and lost 5–7, 3–6. Viďmanová described the match as a learning experience and said her goal for the rest of the year is to remain inside the top‑100 rankings.

She combined university study in the United States with a professional tennis career, citing the collegiate system’s support for training and education. Viďmanová trains in Florida and also in Prague.
