Dark sky destinations highlighted for World Space Week
In observance of World Space Week, occurring from October 4 to 10, Booking.com has highlighted several global destinations ideal for stargazing and experiencing minimal light pollution. Data indicates that 66% of Croatian travelers are considering trips to destinations with darker skies to improve their view of the stars.
Featured locations include the Ningaloo Reef in Western Australia for star observation and Kiruna, Sweden, for viewing the aurora borealis. As the northernmost city in Sweden, Kiruna offers opportunities to see green, pink, and purple northern lights against the Arctic landscape, particularly from September onwards. Nearby Abisko National Park is also noted for its favorable conditions for observing the lights.
